Abstract

Several studies show that there are areas in some biopharmaceutical entities such as clinical research laboratories, diagnostics, virology, clinical pathology or where the staff working in them is always exposed to the possibility of becoming infected with highly infectious pathogenic samples. We can say that the work in the fields of medicine and biology gaining strength once the construction of new biotech centers materializes. With this the creation of the existing policies and regulations are implemented to achieve the integrity of systems in the entities. At the Center of Molecular Immunology of Havana there are research laboratories in which biological agents are handled. So biosafety measures are needed to be taken into account in practice. This study was done to implement the provisions of various regulations that certify that a comprehensive business management system can operate successfully. This work shows the behavior of three key points to assess the biosafety system in the state, risk analysis, medical surveillance program and training. To carry out the same number of tools to guide observation were used to explore occupational exposure to biological agents in the state, a survey to improve the integrated management system. And resulting action plan which included steps to improve and strengthen measures already implemented in course it was proposed. The set of actions presented in this paper, from the theoretical and practical points of view, is a new instrument with modifications for the introduction of a biosafety structure, which must be integrated to the existing organizational system of environmental management (SOGMA).
