Abstract

To reduce disease transmission and mortality associated with COVID-19, planning for short-term preparedness should include the large-scale application of measures such as case detection and isolation, contact tracing and follow-up quarantine. Healthcare workers, many of them in the red zone, are often subject to occupational exposure from known or suspected sources of COVID-19 during specific medical procedures, mortuary work, or laboratory procedures. The Ministry of Public Health has implemented an Action Protocol that provides for the protection of the health of occupationally exposed workers who must undergo medical controls to detect early manifestations of contagion. For the evaluation of the health status of the worker occupationally exposed to the Covid-19 pandemic, a proposal for a Preventive Medical Exam was developed that takes into account the early somatic and functional, psychic, psychophysical and psychosocial manifestations that are usually manifestations of the virus action SARS-CoV-2 and / or the psychosocial risks associated with work performance.
