Abstract

Introduction: An intervention with a macroergonomic approach is carried out in a job of the Mexican pharmaceutical industry. Material and method: A total of 30 subjects were evaluated on a voluntary basis and all of them underwent a medical examination, PSF and ESE being applied to evaluate fatigue and stress as well as the test of three wishes that measures the psychosocial factors that can become stressors and promote the negative effects and the workers studied. The workstation was studied using the APT Helsinki method. It is applied in the Curl Method to evaluate possible upper limb affections. Results: We show that it is a highly repetitive position where non-ergonomic working conditions predominate with 47% of workers who report feeling fatigued and 43% stressed. 50% of those evaluated on the medical examination have symptoms and alterations in the upper limbs. One case was diagnosed with carpal tunnel disease described in that activity. A brief analysis of costs for surgical interventions and treatment in this disease showed a saving for the company to detect preventively these symptoms in the workers who suffer. Conclusions: Establish specialized medical examination, monitoring fatigue and stress, as well as non-ergonomic working conditions, preventing health problems in the worker.
